A Slice of Suffolk Beauty.

As many are aware we have been closed for the past two days, resulting in a loss of earnings at a time when pubs are already struggling. 

We have been respectful during this time as we looked to resolve an issue with our electrical provider " PE Solutions "

Put simply, they have cut power to the entirety of our building resulting in no power to the pub or living space. They have done this because of outstanding debts against the previous tenants. And are now attempting to hold us to ransom to get that money, a debt extending back to 2019 (several years prior to our arrival) as they have no contact with the previous tenants to get their money. The supposed debts have been quoted as in the tens of thousands for the period in question. 

They are refusing to turn the power back on, until this debt is paid and have gone as far as to repeatedly request sensitive personal information about the previous tenants including a copy of their passport from our team. Something that is prohibited by GDPR and information that we do not hold as new tenants. This and a long list of rather alarming statements from "Pozitive Energy" have now lead to us to this point where we are seeking resolution through support. 

We are not refusing to pay our bills and have made it very clear that we maintain the stance as new tenants that we are happy to continue to pay what WE use. However to be shut off and have our home and business threatened is abhorrent. We are pursuing multiple legal avenues to resolve this but in the short term this could be catastrophic. We are fortunate to have recorded all our quite frankly shocking conversations with "Pozitive Energy" and will be releasing to the proper authorities in due course.

In the meantime we ask that our community try to bare with us whilst we navigate this frustrating and quite frankly scary time for the team and their families some of whom will have to live with no electricity, hot water or basic living condition as a result of the horrible acts of this energy supplier, "Pozitive Energy". 

We will continue to fight and will be advising when we can open as soon as possible. We thank you for your support during this difficult time and hope that "Pozitive Energy" sees fit to reverse this tragic situation in a swift and timely matter.

We would stress that we hold our dispute with "Pozitive Energy" and not any individual or individuals. Such as the previous tenants. The handling of this situation and it's consequences lie squarely on the shoulders of "Pozitive Energy" and the spectacularly barbaric tactics they've employed to try and extort payment from us. 

England Rugby may want to consider its partners more carefully. Opting to associate themselves with such   fiendish and downright bullies is probably not the image they want to be associated with.
